Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting — Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our sleep consulting services and methods.

Sleep Training Approach

What is your approach to sleep training?

Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting uses gentle, responsive sleep training — never cry-it-out or extinction. A parent stays present, your child is comforted, and the pace is set by the child. Every child is different, so we offer a range of methods and always meet the child where they are. We work closely with parents to develop a customized plan that works for their family, taking into account the child's age, temperament, and any special circumstances. Our goal is to educate parents on healthy sleeping habits and to help everyone in the family get the rest they need.

Will my baby cry? Do you have a "No Cry" Method?

No. Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting never uses cry-it-out (extinction). We also will not promise a "no-tears" method, because no honest sleep consultant can: change involves some protest. What we guarantee is that your child is never left alone to cry it out. Our approach is rooted in a responsive philosophy that fosters a deeper connection between you and your child. We believe in providing emotional and physical support for your child and empowering parents with the tools necessary to make informed choices about their family's sleep needs. While we can't stop a child from crying, our goal is to help you understand the underlying causes of the crying. From there, we can develop a plan that will support your child's sleep needs and promote better sleep for everyone. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "no-cry" method. If there was, we would be all over it!

How long will this process take?

Most families see meaningful progress in 1.5 to 4 weeks; neurodivergent children usually need 4 to 6 weeks of consistent, gentle change. Sleep training is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and that's why we work with each family to develop a unique plan that fits their lifestyle and parenting style. While it can take an average of 2-3 weeks to see results, we have seen success stories in less and more time depending on the child. We are committed to helping your family get the sleep they need.

Once my child is sleeping will I ever need to sleep train again?

As your child grows and develops, there will be times when they experience sleep disruptions. As parents ourselves, we understand how challenging it can be to navigate these changes. That's where Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting comes in. We provide families with the personalized support necessary to address the root causes of sleep disruption so that everyone can get the good night's sleep they need. My approach is focused on empowering families with the tools and techniques necessary to build healthy sleep habits that will last a lifetime.

Sleep Support

What do I do if my baby wakes up every hour?

Frequent night waking can be exhausting. It often stems from a combination of overtiredness, sleep associations, or developmental changes. We'd love to help you identify the root cause and create a plan to promote longer stretches of sleep.

How do I get my toddler to stay in bed?

Toddlers thrive on boundaries, but enforcing them at night can be tough. We use gentle but firm strategies to help toddlers learn to stay in their beds — while also addressing common fears or power struggles.

When should I start sleep training?

Start formal sleep training at 4 months, when sleep cycles mature. Before that, The Newborn Package builds gentle sleep foundations from birth, and expecting parents are best served starting in the third trimester. That said, we support healthy sleep habits from day one — and we can help at any age.

Do you work with children who are neurodivergent?

Yes. Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting specializes in sensory-aware sleep support for neurodivergent children, including autistic children, children with ADHD, sensory processing differences, PDA profiles and medically complex needs, up to age 10. Plans move at a slower, predictable pace — expect 4 to 6 weeks of consistent change rather than a fast fix.

How long does it take to see results?

Every child is unique, so the timeline can vary. For most neurotypical children, you can expect to see progress within 1.5 to 4 weeks. For neurodivergent children, it often takes 4 to 6 weeks of consistent support — though some families notice changes sooner! For lasting results, we recommend following the plan with consistency for at least 1–2 weeks to start.

Can I use your methods if I don't want to let my baby cry it out?

Yes. We never use cry-it-out or extinction, and a parent stays in the room offering comfort throughout. We offer a range of gentle methods with minimal crying. We'll work with you to choose an approach you're comfortable with and that fits your parenting style.

Packages & Services

Do you offer one-on-one consultations?

Yes! We offer personalized consultations where we create a custom sleep plan based on your child's age, temperament, and your parenting preferences.

Can I book a free discovery call?

Yes. Every family can book a free 20-minute discovery call with Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting. On the call we listen to what is happening at night, tell you honestly whether we can help, and recommend the right level of support. There is no cost and no obligation to buy.

Do you offer virtual support or in-person visits?

Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting is virtual-first and supports families anywhere in the world by video call. Families in Southern California — Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Malibu — can request an in-home consultation; pricing is discussed on the free 20-minute discovery call.

What packages do you offer?

Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting offers six levels of support: the Sleep SOS Session ($149) for one urgent problem, The Stand Alone Call ($200) for a single 60-minute consultation, The Newborn Package ($799) for babies 0–12 weeks, The Two Week Package ($699), The Four Week Package ($999, our most popular), and the Grow with Me Package ($2,500) for up to 5 years of ongoing support. All prices are plus tax, and HSA/FSA funds can be used through TrueMed.

What is included in the Sleep SOS Session?

The Sleep SOS Session ($149 + tax) is one focused 45-minute video session with a certified pediatric sleep consultant on your single most urgent sleep problem, usually booked within the same week, followed by written next steps. It does not include ongoing chat support, a full written plan, or follow-up calls.

What is included in The Stand Alone Call?

The Stand Alone Call ($200 + tax) is a single 60-minute video consultation with a certified pediatric sleep consultant covering a full schedule review, troubleshooting, and steps you can start the same night. A custom written sleep plan is available as an optional add-on and is sent within 24–48 hours. Chat support and follow-up calls are not included.

What is included in The Newborn Package?

The Newborn Package ($799 + tax) supports babies 0–12 weeks with a 1-on-1 video consultation, a comprehensive intake, two weeks of daily text support, and our Newborn Sleep Guide. It builds gentle sleep foundations rather than formal sleep training, which we begin at 4 months and older.

What is included in The Two Week Package?

The Two Week Package ($699 + tax) includes a comprehensive intake, a fully personalized sleep plan, two 1-on-1 video consultations, and two weeks of private chat support while you carry out the plan. It does not include a post-graduation follow-up call or support for future regressions.

What is included in The Four Week Package?

The Four Week Package ($999 + tax) is our most popular option. It includes everything in The Two Week Package plus four weeks of private chat support, four 1-on-1 video calls, and a post-graduation follow-up call. It is the level we most often recommend for neurodivergent children, who typically need 4–6 weeks of consistent change.

What is included in the Grow with Me Package?

The Grow with Me Package ($2,500 + tax) includes everything in The Four Week Package plus up to 5 years of ongoing sleep support: a custom written sleep plan, touch-up calls as your child grows, and guidance through every regression, nap transition and bed transition. It does not include in-home overnight care.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds to pay?

Yes. Slumber Squad Sleep Consulting accepts TrueMed, which lets many families pay for sleep consulting with HSA or FSA funds. You can check whether you qualify before you book.

Which package should I choose?

Choose the Sleep SOS Session if one specific problem needs fixing this week. Choose The Two Week Package if sleep is mostly working and you are a confident, independent implementer. Choose The Four Week Package — our most popular — if you want hands-on support through the full habit change, or if your child is neurodivergent. Choose Grow with Me if you want one consultant beside you for years. If you are unsure, book the free 20-minute discovery call and we will tell you honestly.

What is your refund policy?

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds because our services involve customized plans and dedicated consultant time that cannot be recovered once delivered.
